The Red-Haired Race And The Atlantean Connection

Part II: Amentet and Elysium
Amentet: the mythical land in the West of the Egyptians

City of GoldWith the following look at the goddess Amentet and at Amenty, the Land of the West of the Egyptians, we’ll try to find out whether the Egyptians eventually referred to Atlantis and if so, where they located it.
Amentet (Ament, Amentit, Imentet, Imentit) was the Egyptian goddess and friend of the dead, and the personification of the Land of the West, Amenty – imnty. It was she who welcomed the deceased to their new dwelling place in the netherworld. She was also a goddess who helped with the rebirthing process, and thus a goddess of fertility and rebirth, who regenerated the deceased with food.amentet_wall
According to scholars, the word ‘Amentet’, as used by the Egyptians, was applied to the west bank of the Nile – Egyptian cemeteries and funerary places were all on the west. To the Egyptians, west was a direction linked to death. Amentet was also the name of the underworld – the place where Ra travelled during the night. The place where the sun set was also called by this name, being the entrance to the land of the dead according to Egyptian belief. Amentet – ‘She of the West’ – was therefore the goddess of not only the land of the dead, but also of the entry to the underworld, and of the west itself. (Source: Caroline Seawright).

However, the Egyptologist E.A. Wallis Budge writes :

“Amenti or Amentet was originally the place where the sun set, but subsequently the name was applied to the cemeteries and tombs which were usually built or hewn in the stony plateaus and mountains on the western bank of the Nile. Some believe that Amenti was, at first, the name of a small district, without either funereal or mythological signification. The Christian Egyptians or Copts used the word Amend to translate the Greek word Hades, to which they attributed all the ideas which their heathen ancestors had associated with the Amenti of The Book of the Dead. ”
(Wallis Budge E.A. 2011, The Egyptian Book of the Dead: The Papyrus of Ani in the British Museum, p. cxxxiii)

So, Amentet was a “western region”, a district from the homeland. In Egyptian writings, Amentet is referred to as the world of the deceased as well as a lost western homeland. This would be a logical way of remembering a sunken continent in the West that maybe constituted the very base of the Egyptian culture itself. In this context it is also interesting to remember that the Egyptian historian Manetho mentioned that the ancient god kings reigned in a foreign land (also see: Manetho’s king list).
The hieroglyphs of set (“foreign land”, or a mountain land, or the world of the deceased, the Underworld) and Amentet are very similar to each other: set looks like a base with three waves, while Amentet looks the same with two dots or half circles over two of the waves. Amentet can mean West, Land of the West or Underworld.

Was the mythical Amentet a legend that changed over time, based on the existence of a landmass that had sunken into the ocean a long time before?

If Atlantis was in the West, and, as Plato states, “beyond the Pillars of Hercules” which was the phrase that was applied in Antiquity to the promontories that flank the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar – then maybe we have a hint to where Atlantis actually laid: in the ocean today called the Atlantic Ocean, like many people think. This might explain the similarities between the Egyptian and the South- and Mesoamerican cultures: if a landmass, big enough to be called a continent, sank into the Atlantic Ocean, survivors might eventually have arrived on the shores of Western Europe and Africa, as well as on the Eastern coasts of the Americas.

We’ll leave the Americas for later to find out more about the connection between the red-haired people and Atlantis. At this point, it makes sense to have an excursion to ancient Greece before passing on to the American continent, and focus on Amentet’s Greek counterpart: the Isles of the Blessed Hesiod.

Greek mythology: the redheaded ruler of Atlantis

Elysium “is a conception of the afterlife that developed over time and was maintained by certain Greek religious and philosophical sects and cults. Initially separate from the realm of Hades, admission was reserved for mortals related to the gods and other heroes. Later, it expanded to include those chosen by the gods, the righteous, and the heroic, where they would remain after death, to live a blessed and happy life, and indulging in whatever employment they had enjoyed in life. The Elysian Fields were, according to Homer, located on the western edge of the Earth by the stream of Okeanos.”  (Wikipedia)

In the time of the Greek oral poet Hesiod, Elysium would also be known as the Fortunate Isles or the Isles (or Islands) of the Blessed, located in the western ocean at the end of the earth.Rhadamathus
Again, here we encounter the idea of a land in the West, consisting of several isles, like in the description of Amentet.
The Isles of the Blessed would be reduced to a single island by the Thebean poet Pindar, describing it as having shady parks, with residents indulging their athletic and musical pastimes.
The ruler of Elysium according to Pindar and Hesiod was Cronus but varies from author to author.

What seems really striking in this context after everything that has already been said is the fact that Homer mentions Rhadamanthus as the ruler of Atlantis.

In Homer’s description, Radhamanthus was a redhead – or at least, it’s pointed out that he was fair-haired.

Manetho’s god-kings and Plato’s kings of Atlantis

PlatoAlmost everything we heard about Atlantis, was said by Greek philosopher Plato.
According to Plato, the original kings of Atlantis were the ten sons of Poseidon and Cleito. Allegedly, Cleito gave birth five times to a couple of male twins. The first born was Atlas who ruled over all others.
The fact that Cleito should have given birth to just ten males and no female child seemed so incredible to many researchers that this fact is part of Atlantis being considered a result of Plato’s fantasy.
However, not only was the number 10 a very important factor in the rise and fall of Atlantis, but the number 10 for itself and as the number of kingdoms of Atlantis is perpetual in all ancient traditions.

“…‘In the number given by the Bible for the Antediluvian patriarchs we have the first instance of a striking agreement with the traditions of various nations. Other nations, to whatever epoch they carry back their ancestors…are constant to the sacred number of ten… In Chaldea (Babylon), Berosus, writing in the third century BC, numerates ten Antediluvian kings whose fabulous reign extended to thousands of years. The legends of the Iranian race commence with the reign of ten Peisdadien (Poseidon?) kings…. In India we meet with the nine Brahmadikas, who, with Brahma, their founder, make ten, and who are called the Ten Petris, or Fathers. The Chinese count ten emperors, partaking of the divine nature, before the dawn of historical time. The Germans believed in the ten ancestors of Odin, and the Arabs in the ten mythical kings of the Adites”. Although Babylon is supposed to have had ten kings before the Flood, it must be noted that they reigned successively rather than concurrently, as was the case in Atlantis.” (Ancient History of the East, Lenormant and Chevallier, vol. ii)

Egyptian historian and priest Manetho called the first sequence of Egyptian god-kings ‘Auriteans’. So, the idea emerges that Manetho’s god-kings are the same rulers as Plato’s kings of Atlantis.
Plato gives the names of the first ten kings as; Atlas, Gadeiros (Eumolos), Ampheres, Euaimon, Mneseos, Autochthon, Elasippos, Mestor, Azaes, Diaprepres (Critias 114b).
R. Cedric Leonard is convinced that Manetho’s list of Egyptian god-kings is in fact a list of the first kings of Atlantis and expands on this idea on his website.
Is it possible that it’s a mere coincidence that a tale of a world distant in time and place, consisting of 10 kingdoms, is present in so many ancient texts all over the planet? Storytelling over thousands of years may have changed the details, but it seems likely that there’s a common root – maybe the story of a doomed continent or isle the survivors of which reached the coasts of other, still less developed cultures, influencing the evolution of those peoples.
Some very interesting pieces of this puzzle can be found on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean:  the Americas.

Mysterious Sounds In The Planet’s Oceans: ‘Duck Noise’ ID’d

…  But  Other Sound Mysteries Remain

What was that? For decades, mysterious sounds have been recorded from the ocean that have absolutely stumped scientists.

While some remain a mystery, this week, researchers determined that an odd noise known as the “bio-duck” was emitted by an Antarctic minke whale.

Denise Risch of Integrated Statistics and her colleagues explain in the journal Biology Letters that the Donald Duck-type sound is produced by Antarctic minke whales, which they tagged and recorded at Wilhelmina Bay, off the western Antarctic Peninsula.

“For decades, the bio-duck sound has been recorded in the Southern Ocean, but the animal producing it has remained a mystery,” said Risch.

The bio-duck sound is often picked up by hydrophones positioned under the ice of Antarctica.

Mysterious sounds in the ocean

The Upsweep

Upsweep is an unidentified sound detected on the American National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration‘s equatorial autonomous hydrophone arrays. This sound was present when the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory began recording its sound surveillance system SOSUS in August, 1991. It consists of a long train of narrow-band upsweeping sounds of several seconds in duration each. The source level is high enough to be recorded throughout the Pacific.

The sound appears to be seasonal, generally reaching peaks in Spring and Autumn, but it is unclear whether this is due to changes in the source or seasonal changes in the propagation environment. The source can be roughly located at 54°S 140°WCoordinates: 54°S 140°W, near the location of inferred volcanic seismicity, but the origin of the sound is unresolved. The overall source level has been declining since 1991 but the sounds can still be detected on NOAA’s equatorial autonomous hydrophone arrays.

The Whistle

The Whistle is an unidentified sound recorded by the autonomous hydrophone deployed at a location in the Pacific Ocean. It was recorded on July 7, 1997. The origin of the signal is unknown, and it was not detected on any other hydrophone. The band of energy between 1 and 6 Hz represents strumming of the mooring in mid-water currents.

Unproven explanations

Other mysterious ocean sounds have found an explanation provided by scientific theories and through comparison to known sound effects. However, none of the explanations for the sounds on the following list has been proven.

The Bloop

is the name given to an ultra-low-frequency and extremely powerful underwater sound detected by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 1997. The sound is consistent with the noises generated by icequakes in large icebergs, or large icebergs scraping the ocean floor.[2]

Analysis

The sound’s source was roughly triangulated to a remote point in the south Pacific Ocean west of the southern tip of South America, and the sound was detected several times by the Equatorial Pacific Ocean autonomous hydrophone array.

According to the NOAA description, it “rises rapidly in frequency over about one minute and was of sufficient amplitude to be heard on multiple sensors, at a range of over 5,000 km.” The NOAA’s Dr. Christopher Fox did not believe its origin was man-made, such as a submarine or bomb, nor familiar geological events such as volcanoes or earthquakes. While the audio profile of Bloop does resemble that of a living creature,[3] the source was a mystery both because it was different from known sounds and because it was several times louder than the loudest recorded animal, the blue whale.[4]

The NOAA Vents Program has attributed the sound to that of a large icequake. Numerous icequakes share similar spectrograms with Bloop, as well as the amplitude necessary to spot them despite ranges exceeding 5000 km. This was found during the tracking of iceberg A53a as it disintegrated near South Georgia island in early 2008. If this is indeed the origin of Bloop, the iceberg(s) involved in generating the sound were most likely between Bransfield Straits and the Ross Sea; or possibly at Cape Adare, a well-known source of cryogenic signals.

Julia

Julia is a sound recorded on March 1, 1999 by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA said the source of the sound was most likely a large iceberg that had run aground off Antarctica.[1] It was sufficiently loud to be heard over the entire Equatorial Pacific Ocean autonomous hydrophone array. The unidentified sound lasted for about 15 seconds. Due to the uncertainty of the arrival azimuth, the point of origin could be between Bransfield Straits and Cape Adare.

The Slow Down sound

Slow Down is a sound recorded on May 19, 1997, in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The source of the sound was most likely a large iceberg as it became grounded.[1]

Analysis

The name was given because the sound slowly decreases in frequency over about 7 minutes. It was recorded using an autonomous hydrophone array.[1] The sound has been picked up several times each year since 1997.[5] One of the hypotheses on the origin of the sound is moving ice in Antarctica. Sound spectrograms of vibrations caused by friction closely resemble the spectrogram of the Slow Down. This suggests the source of the sound could have been caused by the friction between a large ice sheet moving over land.

The Train

The Train is the name given to an unidentified sound recorded on March 5, 1997 on the Equatorial Pacific Ocean autonomous hydrophone array. The sound rises to a quasi-steady frequency. According to the NOAA, the origin of the sound is most likely generated by a very large iceberg grounded in the Ross Sea, near Cape Adare.

The world of sound and frequency, whether unexplained or not, is one of the most striking and exciting areas to be explored in the field of mystery and science. Exactly like the matter we’re dealing with, explanations and facts continuously transcend the thin lines between hard evidence, psychology and mystery.

It is one of the basic research fields of the project Mystica. A new series of articles is being prepared, dealing with the universe of vibration.

Does The Ingá Stone Contain A Coded Message From An Alien Civilization?

An Intriguing Mystery Of The Past

MessageToEagle.com – It’s covered with mysterious ancient signs and remarkable engravings of geometric shapes.
Who made these astonishing drawings? There have been a lot of speculations about the origin of these intriguing markings, but so far no-one has been able to solve the mystery of the Inga Stone.
Various theories have been presented. Some said the signs were carved by ancient Indian cultures. Others suggested it was done by an unknown ancient civlization that visited this region in the past. There are also those who think the carvings were made by extraterrestrials.
Some have wonder if the mysterious Ingá stone contain a coded message from an alien civilization living on a remote planet.
The Ingá stone is one of the largest and most impressive Brazilian archaeological monuments.
It is a huge monolith located in the state of Paraíba, Brazil.
It consists of a rock formation in gneiss. Here we find a set of stones, where there are applications, whose translation is unknown.
Various sources have been identified, and there are many who argue that the Stone of Inga has Phoenician origin, but this has not been confirmed.
The archaeological site of Inga Stone is a set full of intriguing rock inscriptions, extraordinarily complex, produced in low relief widely over a rocky cliff of 46m long by 3.8 m high, rising upon a pavement of the creek blunderbuss, the city of Inga. The inscriptions, which occupy 15m long by 2.3 m high in the wall, we present esmeras with many mixed signals, making an amazing system of signs that were recorded by a past that unknown grooves broad, deep and very well polished.

Ancient Reptilian-Like Humanoids Hold Secrets Of Mankind’s Origin

MessageToEagle.com – We find a great variety of prehistoric figurines around the world and many of them are very curious in their appearance.

These enigmatic figurines, dated to the so-called Ubaid period in Ur (6000 to 4000 BC) were unearthed by Sir Charles Leonard Woolley (17 April 1880 – 20 February 1960), a British archaeologist best known for his excavations in the 1920s and 1930s in Mesopotamia.

The figurines depict snake- or reptilian-headed humanoids that were found in several Ubaid cemeteries in the vicinity of Ur, southern Iraq.

20140413-002111.jpg
Are they the Annunaki of ancient Sumerian legend?

Tell (mound) of Ubaid has given its name to the prehistoric Ubaid culture considered to be the earliest settlement on the muddy plain of south Mesopotamia and this culture spread northward up the Tigris-Euphrates during the fifth millennium BC and lasted until the beginning of the Uruk Period.

“Each Ubaid figurine has its own unique pose. Most interesting is a figurine depicting a naked female feeding a child having long slanted eyes and the head of a reptile.

It suggests that the baby was seen as having been born with these features. In other words, the `lizard-like’ heads of the figurines are not masks, or symbolic animalistic forms, but abstract images of an actual race believed by the Ubaid people to have possessed such reptilian qualities,” (Andrew Collins, bestselling author).

Ubaid alien-looking beings are often linked to myths and legends about ancient spacemen who came to Earth to seed the planet and promised to return one day.

Several authors – proponents of ancient astronaut theories – like for example Erich von Däniken and the late Zecharia Sitchin, mention these curiously looking reptilian beings.

The Mystery Of The Sunken Ruins Of Nan Madol

(N.Morgan) On our exploration of the strange and beautiful, I found an under water ruin called Nan Mandol,Micronesian. The mystery that surrounds this ruin was intriguing enough for me to want to know more. Some believe that aliens built this wonderous city. Again, I marvel at the ingenuity of the ancestors and their never ending en devour to improve their way of life. One of the greatest archeological mysteries in the world, the lost city of Nan Madol. Build on an ancient corals reef and covering more than 11 square miles, this ancient city is made up hundreds of artificial islets, intersected by numerous man made canals.

Even more curious, many of the city’s larger islands are connected by submerged tunnels. The mysterious Nan Madol is built entirely out of gigantic magnetized basalt crystals, some weighing as much as fifty tons. In fact, the entire city contains an estimated 250 million tons of the prismatic basalt rock. Native mythology suggests that the stones were magically flown through the air and placed in the city.

According to the Weather Channel:

Off the shores of a tiny island in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean are the ruins of an ancient civilization. The remains of Nan Madol are the only standing monument of a civilization built entirely over open water, on a coral reef.

The eerie abandoned stone structures are said to have inspired science-fiction writer H. P. Lovecraft to create a similar sunken city that was home to the monster Cthulhu, says Atlas Obscura.

In reality, Nan Madol was once home to the Saudeleur, who ruled the island of Pohnpei for more than a millennium, reported Smithsonian Magazine. The 92 artificial islands of Nan Madol are thought to have been constructed over the course of several centuries, and then eventually abandoned after 1,000 years of habitation.

Rufino Mauricio, Pohnpei’s only archaeologist, has dedicated his life to studying and preserving the ruins, which are built of 750,000 tons of black basaltic rock.

“We don’t know how they brought the columns here and we don’t know how they lifted them up to build the walls. Most Pohnpeians are content to believe they used magic to fly them,” Mauricio told Smithsonian.

He added that given the size of Pohnpei’s population at the time – fewer than 30,000 people – the construction of Nan Madol is an even larger and more remarkable effort than the Great Pyramids were for the ancient Egyptians.

Prehistoric Hi-Tech Nanospirals Barely Visible To The Naked Eye – Still Remain An Unsolved Mystery

4 March, 2014

Strange microscopically small nanospirals within material that had to be at least 100,000 years old have been detected in several places, during a routine investigation of mineral deposits in the Ural Mountains in 1992.

The origin of these extraordinary but strange artifacts that the human eye can barely see – is still not explained.

nanospirals003

nanospirals001

There were many speculations regarding the nanospirals, later dismissed as forgery or a proof of an alien technology brought to earth.

However, the discovery of these prehistoric artifacts is very interesting, because the sophisticated technology required to make this kind of products – only goes back to the 1970s.

The spirals range between 3 cm and 0.0003 mm in size. Their remarkable regularity in structure and smooth surfaces, perforated in places, are only visible under an electron microscope.

nanospirals004

 nanospirals002
The nanospirals are of copper, tungsten or molybdenum. The latter two metals along with others, are used in electronics and rocket technology.

The nanospirals are mainly made of tungsten and their cores are tungsten or molybdenum. Ones discovered at a later date were also made of copper.

Fascinating is the spirals’ proportion due to their surprising regularity, which indicates that they could only have been manufactured by mechanical means. So one can say they are rather artificial construction.

Their date of origin is estimated between 300,000 and 100,000 BC.

The Oak Island Mystery

Image
A new reality based television show named ‘The Curse of Oak Island’ recently started to air a few weeks ago on The History Channel. I must admit, it is a subject that I have had great interest in. The TV show is described as:

In 1795, three teenage boys discovered a strange, man-made hole on Oak Island, a small, wooded island just off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada. As the boys began to dig, they found a number of intriguing artifacts. It was the end of the piracy era and rumors of buried treasure were rampant. The boys’ discovery launched a treasure hunt that has spanned more than 200 years, cost millions of dollars and involved dozens of speculators, engineers and even famous personalities such as John Wayne, Errol Flynn and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The search had gone dormant, but now, Rick and Marty Lagina, two brothers from Michigan, have bought most of the island and have renewed the efforts to discover the legendary treasure. Since childhood, Oak Island has been a magical place of intrigue for these men. With Marty’s financial backing, Rick is now leading the adventure of his life. But will their luck be any different from the many explorers who sought treasure before them and failed?

The Laginas insist that their goal is the fun of a treasure-hunting adventure, and if it becomes something that could splinter their brotherly bond, they’ll walk away. But obsession has been known to grip treasure seekers on Oak Island.

Many men have taken on the hunt with the best of intentions, only to be left with decimated fortunes, broken spirits and lost lives. An ominous legend says that seven people must die in pursuit of the treasure before Oak Island will reveal her secrets. So far, the body count stands at six.

Image

Several years ago, I posted the following information:

Off and on for nearly 200 years men have been boring and tunneling for treasure on Oak Island, a small island off the coast of Nova Scotia. Whoever dug the aptly-named “Money Pit” was a brilliant engineer, who harnessed the sea in the form of booby traps to keep trespassers at bay.

The pit consists of a deep shaft, furnished with an ingenious arrangement of side tunnels that allow the sea to flood in whenever diggers venture into it’s depths. The only finds so far have been: three links of a chain that may have been gold or copper (accounts vary); a tiny scrap of parchment reading the two letters, V and I, written with a quill pen: and a cipher stone with odd samples that was found at 90 feet down the shaft (which has since mysteriously disappeared).

The story of Oak Island began in 1795, when 16-year-old Daniel McGinnis paddled over from the little Nova Scotian town of Chester to hunt game. In a clearing at one end of the island, an old ship’s block and tackle hung from a tree over the center of a 12 foot wide depression.

ImageThe island was rumored to have been haunted by pirates who had buried their treasure before they died. Nonetheless, Daniel and two other boys started digging. They found a 13-foot-wide circular shaft dug through clay, with thick oak platforms at 10, 20 and 30 feet. As the work progressed, it became difficult getting help from superstitious townsfolk, so the dig was abandoned in 1804. In the same year, a wealthy Nova Scotian named Simeon Lynds formed the first treasure company. He found the first and greatest obstacle to all further explorations of the pit – water.

The workers had broken through eight oak platforms, three of which were sealed with ship’s putty and coconut fibers when the cipher stone was found at 90 feet. When the hole had been dug 8 feet deeper, a crowbar hit something solid. Lynds was sure he had found the elusive treasure chest. The next day, to his dismay, the pit had filled with 60 feet of water overnight. Weeks of bailing with buckets and the use of crude pumps failed to lower the water’s level inside the pit.

Lynds’ miners sank a second shaft close and parallel to the original pit. At 100 feet they began burrowing toward the treasure when suddenly, the miners were scrambling for their lives. Water had burst into the shaft and filled it to the same level as the original shaft. The previously wealthy Lynds was now destitute having run through his fortune in search of the treasure.

In 1849, John Smith and Anthony Vaughn, who were in their seventies and had helped in the original dig in 1795, returned to Oak Island and tried again with the help of a syndicate from Truro, Nova Scotia.

The Truro shafts seemed to confirm the existence of two or more chests that might contain treasure in some form. Unfortunately, their work undermined the pit itself and caused the bottom to collapse into what was thought to be a vast cavern. The collapse may have resulted in the chest being carried down, possibly breaking apart and dispersing the contents.

ImageThe ‘Money Pit’ in 1947

The Truro syndicate later discovered why the pits had flooded to a level that rose and fell with the tides. A man-made tunnel, 111 feet down connected the sea to the cavern and pit. In 1893 the sea tunnel was dynamited and blocked…still the pit flooded uncontrollably.

Further excavations were made in 1909, 1931, 1935, 1936, 1942, 1959, 1965, 1969, and 1971, none of which were successful. In 1942 a second man-made tunnel to the sea was discovered and it was feared that there might be several more. During the 1990s, further exploration was stalled because of legal battles over the land rights. As of 2005, a portion of the island was for sale. In April of 2006 a Michigan group, said it will resume operations on Oak Island in the hope of discovering buried treasure and the mystery of Oak Island.

Recently, the two parties who fought for land rights in the 1990′s have agree to merged and search the Money Pit together.

ImageThe Cipher Stone?

THEORIES ON THE SUPPOSED TREASURE

There has been wide-ranging speculation amongst enthusiasts as to who originally dug the pit and what it might contain. One theory is that the island contains pirate treasure, a hoard buried by Captain Kidd or possibly Edward Teach (Blackbeard). Teach claimed he buried his treasure “where none but Satan and myself can find it.” Some also hold to the theory that Kidd conspired with Henry Every and Oak Island was used as a pseudo community bank between the two.

Others agree the pit was dug to hold treasure but believe this was done by Spanish sailors from a wrecked galleon or British troops during the American Revolution. Another argument is that given the size and complexity of the pit, it was likely dug by French army engineers hoping to hide the contents of the treasury of the Fortress of Louisbourg after it fell to the British during the Seven Years’ War.

Lacking archival evidence some speculate the the priceless jewels of Marie Antoinette (which are historically missing) are buried on Oak Island. During the French Revolution, when the Palace of Versailles was stormed by revolutionaries in 1789, Marie Antoinette instructed her lady-in-waiting to take her prized possessions and flee. Supposedly, the royal items made it to London along with important artwork or documents, secreted away either on her person or as her luggage, It is even believed she was assisted by the remaining loyal officers of the French navy during the uprising. The story then goes that this woman fled further afield from London to Nova Scotia through royal connections she would have had during her service to the queen at Versailles and managed to contract the French navy to help construct the famed ‘pit’ on the island. Whether such a complex engineering effort could have been completed is questionable and no official date of its construction exists. However, other theories do suggest the structure is French and naval in style.

There are other theories that state the Oak Island pit was dug to hold treasure much more exotic than gold or silver.

B4INREMOTE-aHR0cDovLzQuYnAuYmxvZ3Nwb3QuY29tL19pcTJ2UVkxSmVhdy9UU3pxZHpuemRPSS9BQUFBQUFBQVhNWS9hZDRVM1dNbTRGNC9zMjAwL21vbmV5cGl0Ni5qcGc=

The Knights Templar have been linked to the mystery of Oak Island by many, primarily because historical records suggest that they had both motive and means to deposit treasure in the Money Pit. Compelling of all is their connection with the Holy Land, prompting speculation of untold wealth and artifacts in the form of the Holy Grail or possibly, the Ark of the Covenant.

When Europe called for the Crusades, the Templar found themselves at the center of religious fervor. It was not long before sons of wealthy families were pledging their fortunes and property to the order just for the privilege of joining the band.

The Templar began to emerged as the worlds first bank whereby Kings would deposit their gold in Paris only to be able to withdraw it again in Jerusalem. The result of which was the immense growth of Templar, in both wealth and number.

When Jerusalem and the Holy Lands were eventually lost to Islam, the Templar experienced a swift backlash whereby the King Philip of France began to plot against the organization in hope of reaching their immense wealth.

On Friday the 13th of October 1307, the King found an ally in Pope Clement V and ordered that the Templar leaders be arrested. It is speculated that King Philip’s motive was that he owed the Templar a massive amount of money due to loans he acquired during many lean years in France.

ImageOnce the day of the arrests arrived, the Paris Templar arranged that its treasures be loaded on a wagon train headed toward the port city of La Rochelle. From there, it was deposited aboard the Templar ships, setting sail to an unknown destination. According to Andrew Sinclair, author of “The Sword and the Grail”, the Templar were said to flee with the treasure to Scotland.

Many skilled cryptographers have studied the document. Their attempts to break the code failed. Up to now, none of them has been able to crack the code.

It is worth mentioning that at the end of WWII the U.S. military passed some spare time encrypting ancient texts. They managed to decipher every text except the Voynich manuscript.

Are we unable to break the mysterious code?

Is the book a deliberate hoax?

Is it an encoded version of a known language or a totally invented language? These are some of the questions scientists have asked while examining the odd manuscript. .

Those who believed in the authenticity of the Voynich manuscript maintained that the script is far too complex to be a hoax. Skeptics on the other hand, suggested that the failure of the code breaking indicates there might be no code to decipher and no hidden message.

Now, Stephen Bax, award-winning Professor of Applied Linguistics at the University of Bedfordshire claims to have cracked the code of the Voynich manuscript.
Using his wide knowledge of mediaeval manuscripts and his familiarity with Semitic languages such as Arabic, Professor Bax slowly started to unlock the mystery of this enigmatic ancient text full of strange and puzzling symbols.

“I hit on the idea of identifying proper names in the text, following historic approaches which successfully deciphered Egyptian hieroglyphs and other mystery scripts, and I then used those names to work out part of the script,” explained Professor Bax, who is to give his inaugural lecture as a professor at the University later this month.

“The manuscript has a lot of illustrations of stars and plants. I was able to identify some of these, with their names, by looking at mediaeval herbal manuscripts in Arabic and other languages, and I then made a start on a decoding, with some exciting results.”

Among the words he has identified is the term for Taurus, alongside a picture of seven stars which seem to be the Pleiades, and also the word KANTAIRON alongside a picture of the plant Centaury, a known mediaeval herb, as well as a number of other plants.

Although Professor Bax’s decoding is still only partial, it has generated a lot of excitement in the world of codebreaking and linguistics because it could prove a crucial breakthrough for an eventual full decipherment.

“My aim in reporting on my findings at this stage is to encourage other linguists to work with me to decode the whole script using the same approach, though it still won’t be easy. That way we can finally understand what the mysterious authors were trying to tell us,” he added.

“But already my research shows conclusively that the manuscript is not a hoax, as some have claimed, and is probably a treatise on nature, perhaps in a Near Eastern or Asian language.”

No one has ever come close to revealing the Voynich’s true messages. Has Professor Bax finally succeeded?
